It is normal for 11-year-old boy to watch porn and be interested in sex. At least you know his development is healthy.

I'm more than far away from being a prude bigot, but your comment is sick and borderline retarded. It's OK for boys to be interested in girls or masturbate. But it's NOT fucking ok for a 11yo to be watching porn, as too much porn can be very destructive even for a mind of an adult. This will turn him into a 15yo with a developed erectile disfunction and a premature ejaculator with porn addiction.

I watch porn and I have no sense of 'moral' guilt about it, but some people refuse to accept how too much internet porn can affect ones brain and sexuality.

Firstly, your weak reasoning stands on using the term "too much" which is quite vague and problematic in itself. (The OP does not state how often or how many hours a day / week the boy watches it)
Secondly, you seem to read a lot of bad pop "science" articles written by "addiction experts" who misuse pop neuroscience to scare people. Unfortunately, in the past even doctors spread lies about masturbation damaging human brain, now they just replace the term masturbation with porn and the straw man is alive and kicking again... Publishing a blur picture of brain scan in a magazine alongside with anectodal evidence and spicing it up with terms like dopamine, reward circuitry and desensitization does not prove anything...
Thirdly, using Internet too much in general can damage our social skills, so should I suppose that you are automatically a social loser because you have created your account on this forum??? Probably not, but you know "too much Internet can lead to Internet addiction and you will lose your social skills, so please consult your therapist and seek help!" (seems silly, doesn´t it?)
(Another argument of this kind: if he plays computer games, he will become a serial killer because computer games promote violence, you know there was this kid in Japan who killed another kid after playing NinjaCombat on his computer.)

If you have problems with erectile dysfunction, of course, it is better for you to blame porn than to admit that you are fucking impotent who can't get it up. I watch porn every day and have no problem at all in real life. Actually, I have sex with my partner twice a day every day and my sexual functioning is better than sexual functioning of most people.

It is naive to think that a young boy won't watch porn because his parents don't want him to. I am sure he would find a way how to do that anyway. That is why I think it is better to educate him about the differences between porn and reality so that he wouldn't have unrealistic expectations. It also could be useful for him to know that it is better to use various masturbation techniques so that he wouldn't get used to only one way how to get off and masturbate without porn sometimes. When his parents choose this kind of approach, they will contribute to his healthy sexual development much more in comparison with prohibiting porn which he will watch anyway and hide it from his parents.

I would be concerned to. Porn can definitely cause some psychological issues. Not to say this is the case with everyone, since everyone handles things differently. I've been a victim myself though, and I've seen lots of cases. I don't think anyone would put it past you as a mother (If you're a lady) to flip out and instill some rules lol If it were me I would be setting up parent blockers on the computer and ensuring he's not looking at anything that could lead to something unhealthy. I mean.. he's only 11 years old... As a father I would suggest maybe putting on those blockers and getting him a magazine. Then atleast you know he's looking at the right stuff...

  • You should be worried that you didn't set a parental control and if you did, well he probably knows more about computers than you.

Are you the OP? Your profile says that you are 21, so if you are the OP, it means that you had your son at the age of 10? Then you should not be surprised that he starts to watch porn at a young age...

Why would you let him do those things? Warn him to immediately get rid of indecent activities and also to stay away from such friends or he'll have to face punishment, ask him to promise and remember. Keep him away from such, if not necessary, restrict his computer activity to the you can keep eye on him or completely, also provide him a better environment with people with morals.

Key words: indecent activities, face punishment, restrict, morals...

Are you a member of Anti Sex League or just an ordinary sexophobic prude? Has religion fucked up your mind and your language?

This approach is the worst thing he can do. Actually, sexual repression can have the opposite effect of feeding sexual obsessions - if people are told they can't have something they want it more. If someone is constantly on guard against sexual thoughts, they can end up being obsessed with it. There is a reason why residents of highly religious states spent more time on cyber porn than less religious states according to a study of online pornography access in the U.S. /Edelman, B. (2009). Red light states: Who buys online adult entertainment? Journal of Economic Perspectives, 23, 209-220./
