The point is that gays were oppressed in many countries and still are. Do you know why they call gays "faggots"? Because back in the day, you were burned on a bundle of sticks called a faggot if you were gay.
People compare the two because it's basically the same thing. Discrimination is discrimination, no two ways about it.

I'll never compare being gay to be black. Absolutely just can't at all.
Love to see a white gay guy and black girl in apartheid times and see who gets preferential treatment. I'm from South Africa , still feel it. Can't compare gayness to blackness just cannot!
