Is it normal for me to be uncomfortable around nail clippers?

Whenever I touch nail clippers, I genuinely flinch and recoil like someone would if a dog bit their hand.

Just looking at them makes me feel really nervous and anxious, which I think is weird because I used to enjoy my parents clipping my nails when I was an infant, now I can't go near them without breaking a sweat.

I think the reason I hate them (I'm not 100% sure because I don't fully understand it) is because I don't like the concept of something so small being able to just "bite" through one of the hardest our bodies has to offer.

I know this is weird and this is more to find out just how rare/common this fear is.

I don't think it's strange at all, if you think about it the buildup of the tension in the nailclipper, followed by the snap of it cutting off your nails, could be seen as scary. If I were you I'd remind myself when cutting my nails that it's in your control and it will only hurt you if you make it, like a kitchen knife.

Makes sense but the amount of fear you have towards them is a bit strange.
