Is it normal for me to be this scared of storms?

Okay, so i'm 22 years old and i live with my boyfriend on the lake. Every time a storm rolls around i get really scared. I always think there is going to be a tornado or something. I think my boyfriend is starting to get a little tired with this. Any advice?

    But what's the reason of your fear? I love storms. Specially if they're thunderstorms. Lay down in bed with a nice drink and enjoy the sound of rain falling.

    I am shit scared of thunderstorms, I have to find a place with no windows. The thunder sound does not bother me as I am deaf but the lighting freaks me out

    It's not an uncommon fear. Personally I think cuddling up during a storm and sleeping to the sound of the thunder is amazingly relaxing! However, it is different person to person. If your boyfriend gets tired of the fact that you are scared of storms, doesn't that make him kind of a jerk?
