Is it normal for me to absolutely hate the word "homophobe?"

I can't stand why people call me a homophobe just because I don't believe in male to male Relationships doesn't give people the right to call me that. Plus, I don't have a fear of homosexuals so basically you aren't using the word right. Is it normal for me to hate the word?

Is It Normal?

  • How does one not "believe" in homosexual relationships? They exist. There's proof everywhere.

  • From a point of view strictly regarding word structure, homophobe shouldn't encompass rationally disagreeing with homosexuality, since phobias involve anxiety. But common usage of "homophobe" has come to have a wider meaning. So, you probably just need to deal with it.

  • People like you often hate homosexuals because deep down inside they are afraid that they are homosexual. The more passionately they hate, the more likely that they are truly gay.
Self hatred is very, very sad.

    • What do you mean "people like me" OK im my own person and I clearly said I don't hate homosexuals I'm a huge jefree Starr fan! Second, I am not homosexual I am heterosexual. And them being homosexuals aren't the problem homesexual relationships are the problem.

  • What about lesbian relationships? Since you failed to mention them, it gives me the idea that you find those more acceptable. If that's the case then you do deserve to be ridiculed.

    • Mm OK that was rude. Me saying "male-to- male relationships"was just an example but also written in that paragraph typed by me, a teenage girl, was the word "Homosexuals" do you need a definition or would you like me to use that in a sentence?

      • Then next time learn to write your paragraphs better so you can make that point clear in the first place.

        *pats you on the head*

  • I don't like the word's usage either. Disagreeing with homosexuality doesn't mean that you're fearful of it. There should be another term invented for the disagreement or even the actually hatred of homosexuality. And, just because someone disagrees with it, doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to hate it. A distinction is needed.

  • I am a homophobe. There, I said it. I believe that our natural target is the opposite sex, and that any other arrangement is essentially an unethical attempt to game the system. Look at my YouTube channel for more info. (Same username.)

Then again, what you do in private really doesn't affect me or anyone else. It's just when you ask for government endorsement.

  • I actually heard this argument from homosexuals as well. Saying that they believe this is a stupid term for the fact that hatred does not equal fear. I agree with the OP. I of course have nothing against homosexuals and see no rational reason to not like them. However I do agree the term is inaccurate and so do a lot of homosexuals. So OP this is not new and you are not the only one I have seen bring it up.
