It'a all about conext.... Some guys would take you sitting on their lap, as a flirtation.
Brothers, sisters, family, relatives, is a different 'meaning'.
Also, whether its in a group, or 1-on-1 in "private".
Everyone drinking alcohol?.... another context.
Stranger? or long time friend?
Is seating limited?
Sitting on someone's lap, with your back to them, is different than sitting on their lap 'side-saddle'.
Like I said, depends on the situation, and the context.
P.S. Sitting on Santa's lap is perfectly acceptable, unless he's a drunk pervert... LOL !
It's always in a group but just because we don't really have 1 on 1 situations like that.
We normally don't drink when we are together, but usually when we do it's in a bar where we don't sit on each other.
We all know each other for at least four years.
I don't really understand what you mean by "Is seating limited?".
Usually it's with the back to them.
Also, something that seems important for a lot of people here, we're all about 18 to 19 years old.
What I meant by "limited seating" is just that. Are there not enought chairs, for everyone? Do you have to 'double-up'?
some times there aren't enough chairs and some times there are, it's not really related honestly.
of course when there aren't enough sits we don't really have a choice.
