Is it normal for everything to look far away?

Ever since i was little i have had something that i called " my vision problem". I could be sitting down and all of a sudden everything looks far away. I could look at my hand, which is about 6 inches from my face, and it would like its 1 mile away. Lets say that you have a cup a table that is 10 feet away. Well, it would look to be about 2 miles away from me. And if you think your hand looks far away then you should go outside and look at a house down the street. I know that it is 50 yards away but it looks like 1 million. You get the feeling that if you walked there it would take you 50 years to reach it. But here is something strange. Every time this has happened it has occurred out of the blue for no reason. I recently learned how to control it. All i have to do it meditate for 10-30 mins and then i can summon it. So, is this normal or is my brain messed up.

That's normal. Sometimes at night I would be looking at a door or object and it would look tiny and far away. If I put my hand to my face it would look normal again but when I take it off it would look far again. It's weird because the door would look so tiny and far away.

I have a friend who's experiencing the same thing, and just like you, she's been like that since she was little. Turns out, she has an eye problem. It was kinda awesome when I first knew about it, but it got me worried cause it screws up her vision and it's kinda dangerous if it happens while she's out on the streets alone. You really should see a doctor.

That used to happen to me a lot. It still does, but rarely.

I remember it happening a lot when I was like 13, while masturbating. Weird as hell.

I have a similar effect at times. I can't control it and it often comes from boredom or lack of interest in the person/thing in front of me. It's somewhat uncontrollable, but still somewhere in my mind I have the ability to switch it off for short periods of time. Almost like focusing my eyes on the person/thing in front of me. I DON'T think it's normal. But it's so rare it's hard to know for sure.
