I would wonder why your Mom isnt having the sex talk with you. Usually Dads talk to sons and Moms talk to daughters. I do hope your mom is still around. I would say its ok or normal, but if you feel like it makes you uncomfortable, Have Mom talk to you if she is still around, if not maybe an Aunt, or a female you feel at ease around. There are some things a man cannot explain the way a woman could.
