Being funny can be serious business. Maybe it's your material, your timing, or your delivery, etc? People, especially hot chicks, aren't obligated to laugh at bad jokes just to be nice or polite.
I've sometimes noticed that how funny a joke is is not about what the joke is but it's more about who's telling it. I've noticed good looking guys say things totally bland and unfunny and the women crack up, then I've noticed less attractive guys, like me say something truly creative and funny and the women look at me with a blank or serious look like they just want me to fuck off. It's all about looks.
Sort of edgy, unkept, inelegant, alert, and impulsive. If they got cleaned up they could be attractive. Guess my point was that on an unconscious level, beauty is facial symmetry and other ratios that your brain involutarily computes in a heartbeat. Comedians present themselves with an edge to make you concentrate on the material. But, I agree with the OP; they are none the less attractive under the veneer of their stage presence.
Is it normal for attractive women to take advantage of nice guys?

Danny Devito? John Candy? Chris Farley? Ralphie May? Jim Gaffigan?
So then perhaps in the case of comedians beauty may be more than skin deep. Another well worn cliché asserts, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".
A person doesn't have to be beautiful, but instead, only confident and articulate to express themselves well.
Being on TV and considered successful automatically makes them funny regardless of how lame or offensive their jokes are.

Amy Schumer is a TV comedian yet people frequently complain that her jokes are lame and she's not funny.

Yes, indeed. She's a bit if a one trick pony.
Not necessarily.
