  • I don't think so, I lived amongst Arab women and none said such thing. Of course, I may be ignorant as I do not read Moslem (I assume she's Moslem?)material, but as far as my knowledge goes, it is OK for her to wear sanitary pads.
No tampons though, as they are inserted down there, so I can understand her anxiety about that. Maybe you can suggest she asks other person from her family, aunt, female cousin, etc about such things, the person advised her previously may be someone that doesn't know much at all...

  • Umm, no-one wore pads or tampons a century ago, regardless of nationality. In terms of human history, we're the strange ones.

    • actually, if you go on Kotex's website, it says that women used "absorbent roots" and rangs instead of pads and tampons, but hey it's the internet, who knows if it's true...

      • Yeah, that's true. And Victorian women also wore some cotton-like garments. I think I meant the modern manufactured things but it's so long ago, I can't vouch for myself on that!

  • wow that is so sad for her. they really should allow their children to be hygienic. all of these old school religions should be revised and adjusted to fit the new age.

  • It's her parents' wish, not a rule of her religion. Such parents have to stop having children.

  • Yeah, it's her belief and yadda yadda, but neither you or your classmates are under the obligation to stand that brainwashed bitch stench on a regular basis. If they choose to live in another world, they need to conform to the most basic sanitary rules.

  • Weird!! I'm a Aussie Lebanese Muslim and there is nothing that says a girl can't wear pads tampons I'm not too sure about!!

  • It may be weird for you since your not from that culture, personally I've never heard of this either, but you respect her and if it bothers you that much stay aways from her or at least keep a little distance.

  • Have you tried to go down on her when she is ripe?

  • poor girl. there are very strict middle eastern cultures that dont allow women to even be literate. so if shes in school that would lead me to believe shes not at the extreme end if the spectrum. so, your informatipn may be tainted.
