Ease yourself into it. When you find yourself talking to a girl that you are at least semi-comfortable around ask her out in a round about way. For example, in the middle of conversation say something like "hey i am hungry, lets go grab something to eat". She won't know what your exact motive is and you won't have to deal with the stress of flat out asking her out.
