Is it normal for a tattoo?

Is it normal that I'm 20 and I have a tattoo of a rebel flag on my chest over my heart? It's not that I'm racist, it was just something I've always seen growing up in a small town. So when I moved away it was the only thing I remembered the town by, it was like my own personal homage to the town. That was 2 years ago, now I can't Help but think it was a silly idea. Some people freak out when they learn I have it. lol Whaddya think?

  • I fail to see how the Rebel Flag is racist. The North owned more slaves than the South, the Civil war was fought over government, not slavery. I'm a proud Confederate, and if people throw you off of getting our flag inked on you, you didn't deserve it in the first place.

the rebel flag is closely associated with the whole "north vs. south". thus, it is associated with racism and discrimination b/c the south wanted slavery. i spent 1/2 my life in the south... in my experiences people see Rebel flag = Redneck, and not in the "im just a country-boy" kinda way...sorry

IF it bothers you and you decide you want to get rid of it... Don't do laser-removal, do the salt method instead; it's less expensive and more effective.

Not at all I have a swastika tatted on my body along with 88 and "Arbeit Macht Frei" above my crotch but its only because my pappy was a Nazi that fought for his people I don't actually believe in the extermination of jews its just a homage to him. The Arbeit Macht Frei was for jew girls only

Arbeit Macht Frei had nothing to do with Jewish girls
It was incorporated into the cast iron gates at one of the first concentration camps Dachau in 1933, and It was adopted by the majority of the rest of the camps. It was a bullshit message to all who entered that if you do your work someday you will be released.
