Your post left me feeling quite uncomfortable. As a straight guy, I would be most uncomfortable if my best friend (male) were to "lay on his (my) chest or lay my (his) head in his (my) lap".
It could be that your friend may not be quite as straight as you think, or he may have feelings for you that extend a bit beyond a normal straight male friendship.
I'm certainly not homophobic, but I'm just not that "touchy/feely" with guys, gay or not. Perhaps I'm the one who is not normal, in this case?
