Is it normal for a parent to paper a toilet seat for an 11-year-old?

  • The mom is classic overprotective. Very much so, and in a way that could be "abusive," but I really hate that word being applied to this situation because the mom has very good intentions. The mom probably has some OCD germaphobe issues and thinks that her kid will get sick if she sits on the bare toilet seat. The kid will have to deal with it and will be annoyed by a lot of things her mother does. Not like child protective services needs to come and remove the kid from a harmful situation. But the kid is going to have to at some point deal with the fact that her mother is at times irrational, like many parents. (I have an overprotective mother. What are ya gonna do? :/ Still love her but no that's not "normal." I doubt it's worse than a lot of "normal" things many parents put their kids through, though. The mom here seems to really value being a "good parent" whereas many parents just don't even care what their kids are doing on the internet.)
