I had to vote no. I'm NOT saying it's not effective but those type of punishments can carry SERIOUS psychological ramifications. I'm 63 & can WELL remember the 'special punishments' for us kids(mostly boys) back then when we were caught masturbating.
Back in 60' my mother caught me masturbating & I ended up getting yanked out of bed, rudely escorted to the bathroom & received several HARD swats to my penis(glans) with the back of a hairbrush.
She again rudely escorted me back to my bed & told me if I ever did it again I'd "really get it." Yeah, it stopped me from performing the act(for quite a while) but the penis paddling also gave me some psychological issues that showed up later on as a young man.
Back then a lot of the parents punished the part of the kids body that committed the transgression... soap in mouth for back talking etc. Our genitals were "ONLY" punished if we were caught masturbating. Spanking your sons testicles has nothing to do with breaking his sisters toys!
Don't spank his genitals(believe me on this one!), there's other ways to administer discipline, & I don't mean crude physical methods of discipline(violence). The days of the crude & barbaric spankings/strapping's, castor oiling's & genital punishments are loooong gone... thank Christ! Your child is an investment, let him know that by not violating his most private & sacred area... EVER!
Masturbation shouldn't be punishable anyway. You had awful parents. And the OP is a horrible person for considering doing it again. A bottom spanking I could understand, but the balls should not be hit! It's extremely cruel! What's next, scalping as a punishment?
