Seriously, it is like you have described my family to a tee. My grandmother basically treated my mother the same way. There was even property involved and everything and a big dispute over the money. Then my grandmother treats my mom horribly but when she needs something, my mother is the first one she calls cause she knows that my mother is the only one she can even count on. Yet she treats her the worst. Honestly, I do not know why mothers do this to their kids but I have vowed a long time ago to never show favoritism or any lack of love to any of my kids.
I'm really sorry that your mother is the way she is and that it upsets you. After a certain point you just need to do what is best for you and your immediate family.
