We have different sexual motivation system / different preferences. We are sexually aroused and satisfied in a submissive role which has nothing to do with sexual orientation. Being dominant/submissive is about the preferences for sex acts, being gay/straight is about the preferences for the gender of the person you are attracted to and would like to do something sexual with.
There are dominant gays, submissive gays, dominant straights, submissive straights. Gay masochists as well as straight masochists, gay fetishists as well as straight fetishists etc.
Why are we (submissive males) like this? Scientists have hypotheses about sexual imprinting (before or during puberty) and genetic factors or combination of both. But on a different axis than orientation.
As for me, I am not proud of being a submissive male, I try to take it as it is but I can tell you that it is definitely something which is not attractive for most women. In fact, I would rather be gay than submissive straight male if I could choose - but sadly enough, I cannot change my orientation (which is straight) and I cannot change my preferences (submissive, masochist) but I am old /experienced/ open enough to know for sure what my orientation and preferences are.
