Is it normal for a man not to like swearing?

I was a man of the world who shamfully used say offensive swear words, but when I got to my late teens I realised that this is not socially acceptable and therefore I don't say the much stronger ones, perhaps the odd mild ones now and again but as I got older I find I really don't like hearing such colourful profanity. I know it is now such an accepted part of sociaty (seemingly) and that's sadly world wide, basically every where you go it's heard on the streets by youngsters, it seems to degrade this day and age, not like it was many years ago, different attitudes then.

I mean they're just words... why isn't tree considered a swear? Why does fuck get labeled as a "bad" word, it's just another word for sex, same with shit, it's another word for poop, ass is another word for a butt, and I can go on. It's just when you give meaning to words that they become "bad".

Exactly. I hate how some people go through hoops to avoid calling a spade a spade. E.g. It's pussy or vagina but not vajayjay or down there or you-know-where or whatever.

I feel the same way, I really feel like it dampens the mood. Not just that but it's unnecessary. There's so many other words in the English language to use.

Curse words are for people with limited vocabularies and no better ways to express themselves.

Stereotyping is what got us into this mess in the first place.

I hate it, I just hate it so much. The people who do it anger me too. Ill use swear words sometimes but only to get the point across that I really hate them and I am not infact joking.

  • I used to swear a lot. Not a sentence would go by without one to two wears words involved. Nowadays I find it pretty disgusting.
I remember in college this girl was swearing (not in an aggressive manner), and I told her not to be so rude. I got the dagger stare, but I gave back the "Your daggers are blunt" stare back. T'was funny.

I've often been complemented for my swearing, but I don't think your stance is unusual.
