Is it normal for a kid to believe these things?

When I was a kid I believed several odd things that I just came up with on my own. One of them was I believed there was a demon who lived on the other side of the world and whenever I went up the stairs in the house, he would race the speed of light to get me before I got up the stairs, so I would run up the stairs as fast as I could every time. When I got to the top he would reset. I also had to sleep with my door closed so the aliens couldn't get me (which doesn't make sense that they were smart enough to get here but couldn't open a door). I also believed that the government had invisible floating cameras everywhere that I couldn't see and they would follow me around. I would get very upset about them. I thought there were hidden cameras in my house too and when my parents would leave me at home I would sometimes take apart light fixtures, fans, vents and other things looking for them. I thought that they could watch me through the light bulbs as well. There were many other things like this I believed too. Do most kids think stuff like this?

    Hmm, you like me when I was a kid.

    I used to have these light fixtures that have curvy snake-like necks, they scared me shipless. Anyway, I thought there were evil beings inside them and that these evil beings were constantly watching me so I had to wrap myself up in my blankets like taco papoose. The covers had to be covering my head and the bottom of the blankets had to be locked underneath my feet. They couldn't see me and I couldn't see them.

    I also went through a phase where I was scared of showered which coincidentally, also had a snake-like neck. Anyway, for some reason I believed there was a curse associated with the shower head and that this shower head was trying to get me.

    I still do the life or death run up the stairs.

    I always thought that televisions could have a recording device behind the screen and somehow work like a two-way mirror.

      I thought that as well. I thought everything on TV was real when I was young too and that cartoon characters were real.
