Do you really want to shave the hair? Regrowth in those areas sounds like it would be an itchy, sore nightmare! Maybe think about waxing, epilation or removal creams. Just a thought.
But no, it's not inherently gay. Body hair is a very personal thing and people like and dislike all sorts of things. Just do whatever you want and own it.
