Why does yogurt have so many GD spellings? Yogurt, yoghurt, yogourt, yoghourt . . . wth?
When I was a kid, they told us to spell it "yoghurt", but now I use both that and "yogurt". I think "yoghurt" is the traditional spelling in Canada, and the word looks more balanced that way, but the redundant silent "h" was removed at some point. I think it used to have a "gh" because of the original Turkish romanization system.
Is it normal for a guy to make his own yogurt at home?
