I think that if someone won't let something go, regardless of them making no sense, not trying to make sense, and are just being arrogant, won't shut up, won't let you have your say, then it is acceptable to a degree, male or female.
Basically, this is what I am saying, just without the gender specific:

I agree, mostly. I think it would be okay if that was the case- with the addition that they wouldn't let you walk away.
