Is it normal for a guy to get self esteem boost at gay bar?

    I am straight and my gay friend asked if I would go with him to a gay bar for his 21st birthday needless to say I received free drinks all night long and I felt comfortable with my sexuality to dance with the dude but I did not feel any boost to my self esteem.
