You really need to talk to him. That behavior isn't normal. How old is he? Does he do other things that are "off"? And when you talk to him about this -if his reaction is over the top then you'll know if you need to walk away from the situation. Calling a few times is normal, but dozens is stalking territory. Be careful-seriously.
