Ugh grow up. You can't just "Lay claim" to people. Why should your friend have to miss out on happiness just because you like a guy? First come first served.
Obviously the reason he chose your friend is because you weren't present at your date. So if you want to be angry at someone be angry at your mother for not letting you go (assuming you are of reasonable age, which I doubt)
Yes, your friend probably shouldn't have lied and said she would back off, but come on, she has every right to try for love.
