Cravings in pregnancy are normal. I've never heard anyone 'blame' it on the fetus, though. Like Squirrel-Whisperer said, it's down to hormones etc. And like dirtybirdy said - coffee is not good for the baby.
Ah. It's kind of the opposite from me. A lot of my friends seem to have a keen understanding regarding what food their fetus likes, activities... movies... but I digress.
Your friends are making shit up. They might believe it's true, but mothers don't have a special psychic connection to fetuses. There's no way for them to know what their fetuses like or dislike.
