Is it normal for a female to have a joined rids on her ribcage?

I'm a female and 20 years old, I have been wondering for a while now...quite frankly I don't know how to say it but, is it normal that I think I have a gap/possibly missing/joined ribs on my left side of my ribcage just under my left breast. I have known that I something was weird or different about it for a long time now because you can actually feel something missing there. I have asked my Mum about it and she said I was born that way, my Aunt doesn't believe me. But I know that something is missing because I sometimes get cramps there and my right side of my ribcage is perfectly normal.

Just also wondering should I be getting it checked out??

Any feedback would be good :)

  • Your ribs could be out of place, and all bunched together. A good chiropractor could help you out. I never even knew it was possible until I saw a chiropractor for the first time, and she said my ribs were all out of place.

    • It's not that I have a problem with it, it doesn't hurt or anything and it hasn't really felt uncomfortable. I was just wondering if there might be something wrong.

But it's a bit weird because it feels like its where the ribcage starts to end and the ribs start to decrease in length.

Also, just wondering if a guy would be turned off by it...??

  • You could ask your doc for an x-ray, using the cramps as a medical complaint.
