  • I don't know if your particular situation is normal. For me, however, I feel like that is about the time that a guy SHOULD get out on his own if he can. I think it has to do with psychology mostly. Societal pressure might be an influence as well.

    I moved out on my own when I was around 19. Before then, I lived with my dad and we were slowly but surely starting to argue over things (often)... I feel like if I had stayed much longer it would have escalated to fighting and that was the last thing I wanted because my dad and I have almost always been pretty close. Since I moved out our relationship has stayed healthy.

    • This is so true. I think it's healthy to move out at 20. I think that's fine as long as they can support themselves and if they can't, they should just save up so they can get out before 30 for sure.
