Is it normal for a boyfriend to be kinda distant/emotionless?

I'm very insecure bc my boyfriend was handsome, popular, & I didn't feel worthy when I met him.

When we were together, he would just sit on his computer & scroll on reddit/make computer beats w his back turned.

Outside of that, he didn't really show much affection or emotions. He was already comfortable & happy tho.

I was clearly nervous around him, but he didn't do anything to help me or make me feel special.

Like we would be standing in line at a store, I was clearly uncomfortable, but he would just stand there & not say anything or touch me while we waited.

Same thing at a restaurant once, he showed up, we ate & he didn't speak, then he kissed me goodbye & left.

When I told him I felt alone he said "idk why you feel that way!"

I'm v sensitive and it's hard for me to connect w/people or let them in.

Is this normal/what did I do wrong

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I don’t think it was you, he’s probably just an awkward introvert and bad with social cues. Some people get tired very quickly from being social, so they show affection just by spending time around you, sometimes silence is good. I’m the exact same way as your boyfriend. I can’t be comfortable with people outside my immediate family, hanging out in the same room as a close friend is enough to stress me to the point of needing a nap or a long break alone afterwards.

Exactly, the problem is not on the OP side. Some personality types will always feel that way tho.

Now I will be speaking to the original poster:
If you love him, talk to him about this and tell him, that you feel this way and if he will still be emotionless, then why to be with him, if it makes you feel bad...

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, but it sounds like he wasn't a good fit for you as far as compatibility.

Sorry to hear that, but I also think it's actually better for you. He didn't really deserve you and you would only waste time with him probably. Take care and I wish you someone compatible.
