Is it normal for a 37 yr old to pea slow?

My boyfriend won't go to a Dr. unless he has broke something and can't stand the pain.
I've noticed and he mentioned it that he has difficulty going pee. Most of the time its slow. (Like think a grandpa) He has to push hard to finish getting it all out.

is this normal or should I try to get him to go to a Dr?

Is It Normal?

  • It could be a number of things, but he needs to have his prostate checked. One in four men will battle prostate cancer.

I won't lie. Some of the things a urologist might want to do may be unpleasant and humiliating (look up cystoscopy), but vitally necessary.

If he hesitates seeing a urologist, tell him his thingy might be broken.

    • I agree with bigguy2010 (49567)...1 in every 4 male get prostate cancer these days and the number is increasing, all men need to get it tested at age of 45 or around...its better to get his prostate tested now..

  • tell him that it will affect him being able to get an erection if he allows this to continue. that should get him to go to the doctor.

  • It might be common, but it's not normal [normal meaning a sign of good health].

OP: maybe accompany him if both of you reckon it'd make him feel a little more at ease?

Hopefully he can get seen to sooner rather than later.

  • Peeing should never be difficult. It may not hurt now but this simple symptom is an early warning system.
