Just guessing that since most ladies have sex with a man for the first time at 16-17 years old. When did you first start? 40 seems like a lot for a 19 year old. Not judging, just saying. At 19 I was probably around that number but I had been with 6 different girls at 18 when I got out of HS. The summer I got out there were about another 5-6 then by the end of that year maybe 10 or so more. Now I working off memory but that would put me at 22 or so at my 19th birthday. I continued on this route up until I was 23. By then I must have been close to 100 or so. Problem I had was when I would meet some girl I really liked and may be thinking about settling down with one or more of my female friends would always warn or make a comment about my reputation. One used to refer to a new girl they would see me with as the "flavor of the week" an old baskin Robbins ice cream commercial. They would introduce a new flavor each week. This made it very difficult for me since I had met several really great girls that I was serious about, it scared them away from me.
I was a really good looking tall guy and it always came easy back then. I guess I'm giving advice that wasn't asked for but I would hate for the same thing to happen to you. I would ease off the accelerator a bit. Once your older a committed relationship will mean much more than the random sex does when you're young. My past affected my opportunities for several great women.
Is it normal for a 23 year old woman to have had over 10 sex partners ?
