So,your goal is to push her to sleep by herself no problem cause you don't think it's right for her to always have to sleep with someone.
Probably her problem is:she doesn't feel safe enough sleeping on her own.She needs somebody to sleep with her cause otherwise she feels like someone is gonna attack her in her sleep.
I don't see anything wrong with it but if it really bothers you,try using another trick.
Is it normal for a 12 year old to still sleep with her parents?
