Is it normal for a 2 year old to not eat dinner?

My 2 yr old will not eat vegetables. I have tried everything I can think of, including giving them to him straight, mashing them into sauces or other foods he likes, various other methods, I even resorted to bribing him once, (with mixed results) but he won't even taste the food they are in, even if it is his favourite food. I mean without him knowing I have mashed it into the sauce he still refuses to eat it. There are tantrums and crying fits, and a couple of times he has gone to bed hungry. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any solutions?

  • This is normal! Toddlers can be really picky eaters.

  • It's normal for kids, A lot of them don't like vegetables.

Oh and here is a joke about vegetables.

Whats the hardest thing about eating vegetables?

Getting caught up in their wheel-chairs!

  • It's normal. My 2 year old daughter eats well some days then the next hardly anything. Their tastes change a lot. My dd used to eat peas and corn, now she won't touch them. It's frustrating, but I don't get too worried about it.
