A positive attitude would go a long way toward making your life easier.
Instead of thinking, "nobody wants me like a friend", why not think, "I am a unique individual and these people might enjoy knowing me"? Just as you might enjoy knowing them, if you gave them half a chance.
I have serious doubts that this girl will see much worthwhile in being your friend, if you don't!
