People should get their dogs and cats spayed/neutered regardless if they go roaming about the streets or not! Both my dog and cat (neither are allowed to roam freely around) are fixed! Most people see this cute baby and go gaga for it until they realize what a pain in the ass it is! Too hyper, to aggressive, takes too long to house train, has to go out to relieve themselves too often, has to clean up after it often, sneaks out of the house (cats more often even though as a child our dog did sneak out every time we would go to close the door from answering it and he would be gone before you got to the top of the stairs to yell his name).. Basically not enough time for it to train it properly and they end up getting rid of it and to God only knows who! I had a neighbor that breed his dogs all the time for extra income and then once his sweet Feebie was acting out from her pups getting all the attention and mostly likly from being beat all the time she started relieving herself in the house so he had her put to sleep and another one he walked down the street and just let it wander away! So very sad! But like it or not too many people don't care if there are an excessive amount of cats wandering the streets or dogs that are unwanted being given to possibly the wrong people or taken to be put down or brought to the shelter where there is a high chance that they are gonna get euthanized just because they were born and unwanted basically! Same goes for cats too!! So sad but true! My pup is not only fixed but chipped too in case she ever learns to jump the fence or digs a hole to go under it! Soon I will be taking my cat in to get chipped incase he sneaks out again and gets picked up! I love my animals and my puppy, shit.. as much money as I spent to purchase her, all of her vaccines including rabies, flea meds, heart worm/ other worm meds, blood and fecal testing.. her crate for when I'm gone, pet gates, big bag of dog food every month, toys, treats, etc.. you better believe I'm paying to get her fixed and chipped! That is an expensive investment! In the 3 months I have had her, I'm in about $1000K.. And she was only $300.. I see some dogs are in the $1000k + range.. I could never spend that much on an animal ever! Shit, I can't even believe I spent as much as I did on her... But I did and she is part of my family now and I got to take care of her! If I could get my kids fixed so they didn't reproduce I would because this world is a cruel world and it's only getting worse! Thank you lord that no one has gotten pregnant and pray that no one does for a long time if at all!
