I know plenty of guys shorter than you (5'3"-5'6") who are never without a girlfriend, so I wouldn't blame your height. Girls might be using your height as an excuse to get out of dating you for another reason.
I've never had the need to feel manly myself. I'm OK just feeling like "me", and that's an attitude that won't hold me back. I guess my height is wasted on me in some sense. I'd have been perfectly happy being of average height, or even on the short side of average like you. Work on bettering yourself in every way you can. There's no point pouting about things you can't change when there are tons of things you can. If you're smart, funny, interesting, well-groomed, lovable, and kind and some girl still doesn't want to go out with you, that's her problem.
