Isn't anonymity sort of the whole point of the internet? I wouldn't go online if I had to be seen.
I've never made myself out to be anything other than what I am online, but since I'm not a particularly attractive man, I would hope the person I'm imagined to be online is better looking than the one I am in reality.
On the other side of the coin, I would like to see others, as I think my imagination is pretty lacking.
I understand that anonymity is a big appeal of the internet. That wasn't what I was asking about. I'm asking: why might I, personally, want visual confirmation that these people look regular (ie see a photo of them)?
IIN be agitated because I can't see people online?
