Well clearly the pedophiles are the ones doing the thumbs down. No this is not normal. Never act on this no matter how strong the urge gets. As unrecognizable man said children look up to adults. It would be wrong to take advantage of them. They do have therapy for this type of thing with special therapists. I would say go for the adult and stay away from having sex with the little kids.
