Didn't say that lacking patriotism was hatred but I see why it would look like that. Granted, I am very patriotic despite my knowledge of the problems with our country. I don't think patriotism is inherently irrational. One can love something whilst being aware of it's flaws.

Lacking patriotism isn't hatred for one's country, it is being realistic about one's country instead of being irrational.
