  • It's normal to not be sure if you want kids, or to not want them. I'm the same way, I love having pets, but cannot imagine having a child, at least at this point in my life (and I'm 26). I don't dislike babies or kids, but don't have "baby fever", either.

    I do think some parents kind of lose their identity outside of being a parent, if that makes sense. I get that it's a huge part of their lives and naturally, it's something they're going to enjoy talking about (which is great), but it's good for people to still have interests and things they enjoy outside of just one thing. I think it's great that they're so devoted to parenthood, however, as there's also the flip side of parents who don't care about their kids at all, which is much worse IMO.

    I definitely understand that as someone without kids, it can be very hard to relate to and have very lengthy conversations with people like that, too. Really, it applies to anyone who only talks about just one thing, especially if they always change the subject right back to that as soon as someone brings up something new.
