Who often does this? It's hardly something which comes up in ordinary conversation.
I think it would be a stupid thing to lie about. Why lie? It’s not like something you can fix or hide, I see no point. If I tell you I’m 5’1 would you truly care? No, and my short ass doesn’t either.
Well, healthy humans grow in height. North Koreans are shrinking, Western Europeans and Americans are growing taller. I exagerate myself from 5'10 and a half to 5'11" on dating apps.
I don't know why you're assuming people lie. It's far more likely that they are simply mistaken if they give an inaccurate measurement.
Plus, height changes slightly depending on the time of day it's measured.
The reason people lie about their height is because apparently American women hate men under 5'9". What a shallow narrow-minded thing to worry about. If he or she is a good match, should you give two shits what your height is?
Why? To sound more attractive of course! I'm 5'8" irl but on Tinder I'm a handsome, dark, lofty 5'9" ;)
Been six foot since 16, never been much incentive to lie either direction about it.
My boyfriend used to work in a strip club that catered to women. Hes 6'4 and his boss told him to tell the customers he's 6'6. Not relevant to what you're saying, but it reminded me of that. XD
I went to doc once. They told me I was 6'4 so that's what I would say when they asked, turns out in 6'1. So alot if the tines it not really out fault
