Is it normal...to be obsessed with money?

  • I cannot put a dollar value on my happiness. Money is somewhat important but it is not the indicator of happiness. People who have a lot of money tend to fear not having it much more than someone without.

Money = Time: For what? I think striving for a sustainable life is great. However a truly sustainable life requires no money. Sure it takes money to develop the infrastructure for such a lifestyle if one does not always exist. But most people I have encountered with this drive do not do it because of want of money. It's because they want to be free from the restraints of money.

    • So, you don't have money but you're able to provide for yourself? Or is someone else providing for you?

I guess what I'm getting at is I don't want someone else to provide for me. So for me, financial independence = time. Sure I could have time and hope someone foots the bill, be a pan handler or wandering hippie. But I'd much rather own my own little corner of the earth and know it's as much mine as possible.

      To each their own.
