I really think I am. I just got my bachelor's in microbiology and looking into grad schools. My grandfather helped develop the measles vaccine and I would like to follow in his footsteps. =)
I was a microbiologist for 6 years. It consumes your life. I missed out on a lot of my early 20's working 10 or 11 hour days and most weekend days. It also helped damage my mental health working so much. Stay away.

I'm currently doing advanced medical microbiology on my masters degree, it's interesting but I wouldn't want to do it as a job.

It's just good to have all the microbiology techniques under my belt, I do a lot of other stuff aswell.
