  • Take the money you spend on drinking and buy some health insurance. No sympathy for the self inflicted.

    • Before I even started drinking I couldn't afford health insurance...so your point?

This is actually the way many in the U.S deal with mental illness. Our system is so messed up that no one can get actual help (not help from big pharma), while they are still able to function, so they turn to self medicating.

Once you are truelly sucking the drain the courts will send you to AA to let them deal with you, or jail to make money off you while you rot and get worse.

Do yourself a favor. Put a plug in the jug, get to a meeting and ask around for a good cognitive behavioral therapist.

Good luck to you. Sadly if in the US, It's all up to you.

Well, sounds like you're wasting a lot of money, hun. I feel for you though, I got lucky and get free healthcare till I'm 26. I dont know how I'll afford my antidepressants after that. I hear some of the off brand stuff is more affordable but I wouldnt really know. If you dont make a lot of money you could look into state or federal programs for individuals with low income. Aside from that, drinking every day is a problem, and after three years you might call that addiction. Just, take care of yourself, okay? Itll be a lot worse for you if you discover your kidneys are failing from excessive drinking over the years. I know it's not easy, but you wont be able to afford those hospital bills.

That's not normal and you should seek for help. I'm not trying to sound rude, but if I am; you have to understand why. Please, you really need the help. It's going to be better for you, and even though I have no clue on how to help; professionals are always willing to. Hope you improve your life situation, stay strong!

  • It's sad, but it's normal and easy to fall into that.

Sometimes, I've planned to commit suicide, because there seemed to be no way out.

Wallowing in my misery, and living like I was dying offered respite. Both ignoring my problems and trying to fix them seemed difficult and impossible.

I couldn't let myself care again, because I was afraid I'd be crushed if I did.

I don't know if you can relate to what I described, and I don't know how bad your mental problems are, but you can probably change without the health insurance.

Being drunk has no chance of fixing your problems of poverty and mental illness.

However, weening off of the alcohol and trying to take baby steps toward improvement could. You know your options; usually there's at least one viable one.

Invest in once of those fancy bathtubs with the door and seat.

In my wisdom, I believe there’s a point in everyone’s lives when they’re at their most downtrodden and pathetic. It seems to me that you’re at this point, but instead of going towards the light at the end of the tunnel, you’re running towards the train in the darkness.

However, if my short life has taught me anything so far, it’s that people aren’t defined by their bathtub moments. If we were, I’d be labelled a pervert because of all the clogged drains and skid marks, but I’m not and neither are you..

Get out of the tub and dry off, it might just change your life.

    • We talked about this.

*sigh*, Alright, this is your fourth offense. I'm gonna need you to take your hands off of the keyboard, and exit the room.
