  • I think you should be concerned that you don't know this stuff about them.

Do you consciously make an effort to get to know them as individuals, like you would if they were your friends? Do most of your conversations with them revolve around you and your life, or do you make an effort to get to know what's going on with them on a personal level?

Parents are people too; people with hopes, dreams, and fears - just like teenagers. Take an interest in your parents. They had a life before you were born, do You know what they've gone through to get You to where You are today?

  • AS long as the social dynamic in your family is fluid, it shouldn't be of concern... hell, i"m always forgetting how old people are :P

  • See with me, I know their ages, birthdays, but like you said, their favorite colors... I haven't a clue. And they really know nothing about me. And I don't care what any of them say, they don't know a thing about me.
