Everyone will have some sort of anxiety in their time of life, but what differentiates between feeling a bit of anxiety because you're about to ask your crush out, have to do a speech in public, going to an important meeting, etc. is entirely different from anxiety that literally cripples the person from doing anything.
I have been diagnosed by a psychologist with severe anxiety, and it doesn't help that I also have aspergers. For a normal person going out to the shops seems normal and wont have much trouble, however for me I hardly ever go outside because there is a chance I will have an anxiety attack and breakdown.
It isn't just the anxiety, people who suffer from it basically have a fear of people, they don't feel safe in crowded areas, which is basically everywhere you go (unless you're in your house.) I definitely don't feel safe, the longer I stay out the more I begin to panic which causes anxiety attacks.
A lot of people don't understand this however, a lot of people think anxiety isn't that serious, and say "everyone has anxiety." But again having a minor bit of anxiety over something is normal, if you have anxiety where it makes you stay in your house for months then that is not normal and a serious illness.
I feel like severe anxiety should be represented more, because right now a lot of people don't know how serious it can be, and there is chances of anxiety leading to other illnesses such as depression or agrophobia.
Is it me or does everyone have anxiety today?
