  • Lol we live in a crazy world. My problem is not with individual liberties, it's with the state policies and the implications of such propaganda at a socio-cultural state level. These weaken a state and make it unstable and vulnerable against threats. I am conservative because I understand the catastrophic effects of a country losing its values and culture, not because I have anything with people's choices. On the contrary, I want them protected by the law just in the way we are. When they are abnormal and unusual, just don't push them in public propaganda and don't change the laws in your favour, because that's insane. Personal life is one thing, state politics is another thing.

I can't help but appreciate your honesty and openness to admit changing your perspective when the evidence suggests this.

    • I don't often change my mind about things. Not to be arrogant but I'm rarely wrong. But when I am I'm honest about it. We all learn things.

I agree with most of your principles, I just tend not to enforce things so strictly because I'm quite passive. I'm also very "big picture" so I'm pretty good at ignoring things that I don't like if it helps keep the peace. That way thinking also gives me the perspective to say that my view is just one person's view, and who the hell am I to tell others what to do.

But that article... Hmmm... Passive and big picture isn't always the most responsible thing to be.
