Is it harmful to my skin if i go outside every day?

Every day I wake up at around 7 I go on a run for about an hour, I'm scared because I heard that over sun exposure can give you cancer, but I need to get some form of exersise so I keep on doing it every day, is this bad for my skin?

  • Why are you worrying about UV rays at 7 am? And why are these other people suggesting sunblock at that hour of the morning?

    • the suns out at 7 it’s not like everyone lives where you do. 7 where I am the suns out may not be the absolute hottest point of the day but it can still be UV af out. If the sun wasn’t out at 7 wouldn’t you think OP wouldn’t have asked.

      • I specifically referred to UV rays at 7 am, not just that the sun has risen by that time. I'm in Australia, which has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world, so there's a lot of public health information about the danger of UV rays. I've never heard it suggested that UV rays are dangerous in the early morning or late afternoon.

        • It doesn’t necessarily rise at that time. And where do UV rays come from? Ik Theres points in the day that’s worse than others but doesn’t mean it’s not completely undangerous at 7. Either way if it’s a worry then better off to slap on some sun block than take a chance at possible issues. Few months ago I went to swim at the lake and there was no sun what so ever all cloudy and kinda cold yet some others and me got a sun burn pretty hard. It was pretty late too not in a time youd assume to.

  • You need some sun every day to produce vitamin D naturally. An hour a day is fine. Maybe a little sun block on your arms and face. I take vitamin D supplements in my vitamin regiment.

  • Probably not early in the morning but if you are outside a lot every day for long periods of time then it could end up a long term problem. As long a as you apply sunscreen and reapply when supposed to you could be fine

  • Sun won't do you harm in small bouts like that, but if you're SUPER concerned about skincare, sun does age the skin faster.

Sun block, especially high UV protectors, will do you good if you ever are concerned (plus they keep you from burning!).

  • Being outside for an hour isn't gonna hurt the average person. If you are worried though just sunscreen will help prevent most skin damage from occurring.

  • Just use some sun block you’ll be all good. Over time with a lot of sun it can age your skin pretty hard. And yeah the skin cancer part too. I heard about one person who got it after being in the sun for 20 minutes. So always good to be protected. If ik I’m going to be in the sun for a few hours I always put some on my family already look like raisins so if I can prevent a few extra wrinkles I will. Plus I burn to easy.
