As far as I'm concerned, the defining quality of being gay is looking at someone of your own sex and wanting to have sex with them.
FWIW, I'm a straight guy, and I've always found it very difficult to judge what sort of men women and gay guys find hot. I just did a Google for hottest men and had a look at a random ranking website. I'm able to recognise that some of the guys on the list - Chris Hemsworth, Zac Efron and Ryan Reynolds, for example - conform to my general idea of what a handsome guy looks like. But I'm bewildered by the presence of other guys on the list - Harry Styles, Tom Holland and Johnny Depp, for example.
