Is it fine to have a sped aide at school?

I'm a student in high school, and ever since I was 7, I have had an aide at school for emotional control. The IEP I have that requires this aide is letting me receive more freedom because this year, I'm taking a college course, and I won't have my aide. I hate my aide, and I really want to have more freedom. I might have a log on my phone about my emotions to prove i need more freedom, but I think I'm old enough to be independent. Is it okay to have an aide, and do you think I'm ready?

    I it's okay to have an aid if it's necessary for medical/psychiatric reasons. I guess I'm wondering what your diagnosis is that you need an aid. I'm just curious I guess.

    Check with your doctor if you still need a leash.

    It's fine to have an aide but it you have to ask for more freedom and independence then you're not ready for it. Independent people just declare their independence.
